I do all the cooking. I mean, if I’m at home and someone needs popcorn or cereal poured, its all me. Amy tried cooking once and she managed to set an egg on fire boiling it, so I do all the cooking. I’m usually struggling for ways to make dinner for the four of us that would be eaten by all. Its tough with two under five year olds in the house and something that I’m only successful at maybe half the time. Until I discovered E Mealz.
E-MEALZ Easy Meals for Busy and Frugal Families makes things a snap. “But mcangeli, how can that be?” You ask. Easy. E-mealz knows whats coming up for sale at your favorite store (wal-mart, aldi’s, publix, kroger, ralphs and other stores) and creates a dinner menu for 7 days based on the sale items. You not only get good meals, but you *SAVE* money as well. They also have low-fat menus available as well! Can’t beat that with a stick.
The kicker? Its only $15 for three months (use the Coupon word DAVE and save on top of that!). So, here’s the scoop, for $1.25 a week, you get a 7 night meal plan (with a main course and sides) thats built around the sales of the week. The Publix Plan has been a good thing for us as I now have a good list for food shopping and know what we’re having every night! Try it for three months. I bet you’ll eat better and save some money too!
Ok, I thought this was odd enough to share with you… in Spokane, Washington a cow (yes, a bovine) plunged 200 feet to its hamburgery death as it proceeded to use a minivan as an airbag. Luckily, no one in the car was hurt and everyone delayed by the accident was able to get a free burger for their troubles.

Perhaps one of the all time greatest movies ever produced (yes, Joana, I said EVER) was the Shawshank Redemption. When I saw that movie, I loved it. I watch it every time its on TV (God Bless TBS!) and I’ve been looking for a copy of it on DVD ($5 walmart bin anyone?). I was a little startled to learn that it was written by that master of suspense and horror, Stephen King. I haven’t watched many of his other movies, carrie was too scarry, IT wasn’t, there was that one made for TV movie I caught of his and I haven’t read too many of his books outside of the Dark Tower Series and (I think) Return to Atlantis (or something like that).
When I came across the site for The Mist by Stephen King, I’ll admit I was a little afraid. My idea of a good movie is one that isn’t quite as scary as um, say, a Stephen King novel. I bravely sat through the trailer though and having done so, I will be the first to admit, the next time a heavy fog comes rolling in Kennesaw, I’ll gladly stay inside with the lights off and the doors and windows bolted shut. I may have to rent the movie though when it comes out on DVD.
I bought in to the hype of BlogRush like many others in the blogosphere did including bigger names like John Chow and Darren Rowse @ problogger and like many I’ve been wondering if Blogrush can deliver on its promises. Despite the fact that they have the new “dashboard” and reports up and running, there doesn’t seem to be much rush going on from the other blogs on the network.
If you look at the stats for the last 12 posts on my blog (which isn’t even an accurate list) you can tell that despite the number of impressions on other blogs, the click rate or “readers” is unbelievably low. One of the reasons behind this may be the category I had selected for my blog “Personal:Other”. It appears that many of the blogs listed in this category are non-us blogs, or at least blogs where the authors speak poor english and have problems putting coherent sentences together. I’ve changed the category to Personal: Diary, we’ll see if that makes a difference, but I doubt it.
One of the other factors could be the titles on the posts I’m writing. Looking at the stats the ones with the interesting titles (Card Me? for instance) seem to be getting the brunt of the “reads”. Of course, three reads out of 1,200 “syndications” sucks. I’ve had better luck using thoof or digg to get word out about posts.
I did move the widget up on the sidebar in an effort to raise more awareness of it, and I tend to hit a link on it ever so often if I come across one I like. The problem seems to be that everyone rushed to add this to their sites because the creator promised huge traffic increases. So far blogrush seems not to have delivered on it promise. We’ll see if the change of the category as well as a change in the way I title my posts has any affect on the “rush” of traffic I see from BlogRush.
Are you using blogrush on your site? If so, what do your stats look like. I’d be interested to know if they match mine or are better and what you’re doing to maximize your “syndication”.
Some kids out there just cry out to get picked on. I wasn’t one of those kids, neither were my friends as we fell in between the bullies and their marks. However, two brothers have become the perfect fodder for bullies world wide and I can only hope it doesn’t do more harm. These two created Wedgie Proof Underwear. A concept in itself that is so wrong. Especially when demonstrated on NATIONAL TV (Fox News) by the two brothers.
The 8 year old twins developed the Rip Away 1000’s to help them out at school. Though after this video, they may need something other than rip away undies.
There are some really, really good nuggets of sound in this clip, I recommend you watch it. And for heavens sake, DO NOT EVER BUY THESE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!

Every so often, there comes a time when a man must suck it up and admit he was wrong. Either through words or actions. I’ve found, over the 6 years I’ve been married that the easiest way to do this is to visit one of the local florists and pick out a nice bouquet of hydrangeas, roses or other flower of the moment. A small act like sending a sweet smelling arrangement of Orchids tends to go a long way to easing the heart of a wronged loved one.
Even better though, is just sending flowers out of the blue for no reason at all. Like commenting on other blogs or posting to your favorite forums, its an easy way to let someone you love know you’re thinking about them and it might just be the spot on sunlight on an other wise dreary day that they needed. I know my girls (Amy and Grace anyways) would love to receive flowers for no reason at all. Amy loves hydrangeas and Grace would love nothing more than to receive a rose a day. Personally, I’d choose the Potted Exotic Orchid at proflowers.com. The orchid itself is a very diverse plant (one of the largest families of plants) and it has sooo many uses. The one use I prefer though it to look at it. Its a gorgeous plant. We gave one to my grandfather four years ago and it keeps blooming and blooming and blooming! (speaking of which, I need to go repot it…).
Sometimes I feel like kickin back with some good guitar music. Sometimes I like blues, and sometimes, I like to listen to a little of everything. Hence, my visit to the Page of Dan Tharp at amie street. Dan’s guitar work is unbelievable and the bluesy feel of Banzi Bambi is freakin awesome. Listen to the track. Then tell me you love it. Because I’m sure you will.
