Meals Made Easy

RoastDinner_468x332 I do all the cooking. I mean, if I’m at home and someone needs popcorn or cereal poured, its all me. Amy tried cooking once and she managed to set an egg on fire boiling it, so I do all the cooking. I’m usually struggling for ways to make dinner for the four of us that would be eaten by all. Its tough with two under five year olds in the house and something that I’m only successful at maybe half the time. Until I discovered E Mealz.

E-MEALZ Easy Meals for Busy and Frugal Families makes things a snap. “But mcangeli, how can that be?” You ask. Easy. E-mealz knows whats coming up for sale at your favorite store (wal-mart, aldi’s, publix, kroger, ralphs and other stores) and creates a dinner menu for 7 days based on the sale items. You not only get good meals, but you *SAVE* money as well. They also have low-fat menus available as well! Can’t beat that with a stick.

The kicker? Its only $15 for three months (use the Coupon word DAVE and save on top of that!). So, here’s the scoop, for $1.25 a week, you get a 7 night meal plan (with a main course and sides) thats built around the sales of the week. The Publix Plan has been a good thing for us as I now have a good list for food shopping and know what we’re having every night! Try it for three months. I bet you’ll eat better and save some money too!

Drawing fire from both sides

It looks like hillary is having a tough time lately, drawing fire from both sides of the political aisle. Which is good except that the Dems and the GOP need to do more if they want to debase her campaign and knock off some of the poll numbers. Clinton is approaching this race not as an *IF* I’m the candidate or more accurately, the President but *WHEN* I’m the candidate (or president) race. From all accounts, its her’s to loose as well.

Edwards and Obama need to pick it up if they plan on taking Iowa coming up in January. Clinton needs to finish second or even third in iowa in order to knock some of the steam out of her campaign.

Meanwhile, several of the republican candidates are approaching it as though they’ll be facing her in the election next November as well. This move could backfire on them though and lock in her candidacy if they keep approaching it as though she’s the one.

Whats your Halloween Costume?

Its almost that time. Halloween is a good time of year. Everyone gets to dress up and act different and most of us get lots and lots of candy. Grace and emma are going as witches this year (mainly because amy was able to find them matching witch outfits in their size) which means we don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for halloween costumes. In the past, Grace has gone as a princess, and JoJo (from Jojo’s Circus) we were happy this year to get her in to a witches’ costume. Though I bet if she had seen the fairy witch from Halloween express that she would have been cool with that as well.

As for me, I’m going as a daddy. I have the outfit already and its something I’m fairly comfortable being. Amy is going as a spider woman or something else we had lying around. My favorite that we’ve gone as is Tigger and Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. The cool thing is that with all the Halloween Express stores around this time of year (there are like 5 in the immediate area) finding a costume is easy.

I’ve been using Twitter for some time now and while I’ve grown accustom twittering my activities (I don’t do it as often as I should…) but news of another google acquisition came today and introduced me to Jaiku. Jaiku is another mashup of tech wonders that allows users to stay in contact via their mobile phones. Its pretty cool. Its free. And it could compete with Twitter. Maybe. Though it must be good if google is interested.

Morphed!

Ok, so I’ve been playing with the Morpheus Photo-Morpher software I wrote about a while ago for a little while now and I’m getting a little better. I still haven’t mastered the art of turning myself in to a frog or a monster or anything like that but I think I did ok turning the buggeyed Hillary in to a Crazy frog. Don’t you?

The photo morphing software from Zoombli (who kindly sponsor this post) is pretty cool and the more I play with it the more I like it. Its fun and once you get used to working the little dots around (there are actually four different locations on the Hillary photo that I have dots around) its fairly easy and quick to use. I could take a photo of myself and morph it in to say, John F. kennedy or George Washington or even Lou Ferrigno (imagine me with Hulk like muscles!!). I think that’d be pretty cool. And priced at about $30 its right on with most of the available software today and you can download it and use it right away!

Must be a Plant!

Hillary was at it again, this time beratting a would be voter for questioning her with what must be a plant! Apparently, the question had to do with her recent vote for Bush to call the Iranian Revolutionary guard a terrorist organization and how that would give the current administration the go ahead to go to war against Iran. Instead of responding calmly to the question, Clinton responded

by telling the questioner “the premise of the question is wrong,” and argued the measure calls for the terrorist label so that sanctions can be imposed. The sanctions, she also said, will in turn “send a clear message to the leadership” and lead to stronger diplomatic efforts.

The Democratic presidential front-runner then concluded by suggesting the question was planted, saying, “somebody obviously sent it to you.”

She certainly does not handle direct questions well and if this is how she responds to criticism, imagine her in the Oval Office. Why, there wouldn’t be a news paper or blog or news program left.

Also in the news, John Edwards has compared Hillary to Howard Dean in the ‘04 election. See how well he’s doing now?

Also, clinton has apparently added Sandy Berger to her advisers. Berger was convicted of taking and destroying classified documents from the National Archives before going to testify before the 911 Committee. Does anyone in the Clinton Campaign not find a problem with this? And Hillary has been endorsed by Muslim Terrorists. How good is that for a campaign?

I think the one thing Edwards, Obama and the whole republican field have going for them is that they are not Hillary Clinton. It might be fun to watch as her campaign slowly implodes.
